Yo Re Mi Children's Yoga Teacher Training (RECAP)
/A huge thank you and congratulations to the wonderful folks who completed our 30-hour Children's Yoga Teacher Training earlier this month! The days were full of adventure, collaboration and ridiculous fun.
There were several moments that had me laughing so hard I cried. As a facilitator, it was a gift to be reminded of the wonderful physical, spiritual and emotional effects of joyful play.
“Our children can be our greatest teachers if we are humble enough to receive their lessons." - Bryan McGill
Our group came from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience: classroom teachers, parents, dancers, musicians, yogis, para-professionals and students. We started our training by creating safe space so everyone would feel supported to try new things, share authentically and be as silly as they wanted to be. It was awesome to be in a room where everyone could learn from each other!
In Yo Re Mi, we learn by doing. In our three days together, trainees prepared adequately, participated in 4 full-length Yo Re Mi classes led by senior staff, experienced more than three dozen musical yoga poses and activities, and collaboratively designed and taught five mini-classes in small groups.
By our last day, everyone who attended felt prepared to teach a children's yoga class! We are excited to see the positive impacts each person will have with the children in their lives.
Here's what some folks had to say about the weekend...
"I look forward to using Yo Re Mi's approach to communicating with children."
"Everything was clear and fluid. Good balance between learning and lecture, moving and listening."
"I loved this workshop and cannot wait to share what I learned with my kids."
